Manhattan Life Plan G

Plan G is the most popular plan currently, as it gives you the most coverage for the lowest price.

It covers the primary benefits plus extra coverage for hospitalization, but it does not include the Part B deductible.

  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100)
  • Part B excess charges benefit for charges exceeding the standard Part B limit
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

In most cases, you will save $250+ a year on the Plan G for the same coverage level as the Plan F

Manhattan Life Plan M

Plan M is not a very common plan; however, for beneficiaries that are not concerned about inpatient hospitalization, it can be a viable option.

Plan M contains the primary benefits and:

  • 50% of part A hospital deductible for inpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21-100)
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Manhattan Life Plan N

Plan N is one of the most affordable plan options if you’re not going to the doctor often. A small annual deductible and low co-pays for the doctor and emergency room, it’s one of the most popular choices for beneficiaries.

Plan N contains the primary benefits and additional coverage for hospitalization plus:

  • Part A coinsurance (generally 20% of Medicare-approved costs) – for hospital outpatient services
  • Part B hospital deductible for inpatient services after a $50 copayment ER and a $20 copayment for a doctor’s office visit
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21-100)
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Manhattan Life Rate Increases

Manhattan Life does not offer Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as Part C. These are Typically network-based plans that replace your Original Medicare.

Manhattan Life Dental, Vision, and Hearing

Manhattan Life offers coverage for dental, vision, and hearing in most states. There is a 12 month waiting period on high-cost services.

Dental coverage in the first year includes routine care; then, in the second year, dentures, bridges, and periodontal surgery have coverage.

The policy year maximum on vision is $1000; you can get an eye exam, glasses, and contacts.

There is a $100 deductible for hearing coverage. High-cost hearing services have a 12 month waiting period.

Manhattan Life Household Discount

Many companies offer discounts if the beneficiary and spouse are both enrolling with the same company. In most states, Manhattan Life offers a discount to anyone that signs up if they are either married or have been living with someone over the age of 60 for at least 12 months.

This is helpful in keeping the premium costs lower; in most states, the discount is 7% off your monthly premium.

Manhattan Life Providers

Manhattan Life Medigap plans do not have any networks; if the doctor takes Original Medicare, the beneficiary can see that doctor, with no referral needed for specialists.
