Mutual of Omaha offers Medicare Supplement Plans as one of their products. They were one of the first companies to offer Medigap after the Medicare law was signed in 1965.
Mutual of Omaha is rated superior (A+) by A.M. Best. Here at MedicareFAQ, we offer supplements underwritten by Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance Company and their affiliates, United World Life Insurance Company, Omaha Insurance Company, and United of Omaha Life Insurance Company.
They’re a multi-line provider of insurance and financial service products. This includes long-term care, disability insurance and life insurance. Mutual of Omaha even has Mutual Dental Protection Insurance policies.
Mutual of Omaha offers Medigap policies across the nation, except in Massachusetts. Plans vary by state, but the two most popular Medigap policies are Plan F and Plan G, these plans are available in all states that Mutual of Omaha and its affiliates offer Medigap plans.
Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plans Benefits Overview
There’s a reason that all Medicare Supplement Plans get great reviews, the benefits are standardized by the government. This means that a Plan F is a Plan F. No matter which company you choose, the benefits will be the same.
With Mutual of Omaha, you’ll have the same standard benefits that any Medicare Supplement Plan provides, including:
- Coverage across the U.S. You can see any provider that accepts Medicare in the United States.
- 30-day Free Look period, you can give the supplement a try and cancel if you decide it’s not a good fit.
- You can’t be cancelled for health issues or insurance usage; these policies are guaranteed renewable! Of course, this only applies if you’re paying your premium.
Mutual of Omaha Medicare Additional Benefits

- No application fees
- Rapid issue policy

- Plus, you get peace of mind having coverage from an A-rated major insurance carrier
Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan F
Mutual of Omaha Plan F is considered a first-dollar coverage plan. Once Medicare pays its share of a bill, it sends the balance to the Medigap company to pay the rest. The Medicare Supplement company doesn’t get to decide which benefits they will honor, and which benefits they won’t.
If Medicare covers it, then Mutual of Omaha supplemental Plan F will cover it as well. United of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan F has been one of the most popular plans on the market for decades.
Since Plan F is considered first dollar coverage, you’ll have no out-of-pocket expenses. You just need to pay a monthly premium.Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan F rates vary depending on many factors. Factors include your age, gender, location and rating method used.
Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G
Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G has been a favorite among agents and clients alike. The benefits are more comprehensive than Plan N, and it’s more affordable than Plan F in most states.
Mutual of Omaha Plan G covers everything except the annual Medicare Part B deductible. This is a great value if the annual premium is more than you pay out for your deductible.
We can find you an Omaha insurance company Plan G in your area that fits within your budget, without reducing your benefits. The annual savings in premiums can be a few hundred dollars more than the cost of the Part B annual deductible.
You can check out Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G reviews here.
Mutual of Omaha Plan N
MoO and affiliates offer Plan N, which was designed for people who are willing to cover some of their own medical expenses in exchange for a much lower premium.
Your cost sharing under Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan N is the Part B deductible and copayments up to $20 for doctor visits and $50 copayments for E.R visits. Beneficiaries are also responsible for any Part B excess charges.
Part B excess charges are no more than 15% that some doctors will charge beyond what Medicare pays. You can always ask doctors beforehand if they charge excess charges.
Mutual of Omaha Medigap Plan N is popular for people who want the flexibility of Medicare Supplement coverage, with a lower premium option.
Mutual of Omaha High Deductible Plan F
The High Deductible Plan F is the same coverage as the Plan F after the annual deductible is met. This policy will cover the Medicare Part A and B deductible, excess charges and foreign travel emergencies.
Obviously, people choose this option because they want to benefit from the lower premium. The savings is appealing to many retirees. Some beneficiaries do feel like the out-of-pocket expenses are a bit much once they start getting a bill for the remaining 20% that Medicare doesn’t cover.
High Deductible Plan F is still great coverage, and many people like it. It’s important to remember when you spend money on the deductible, that is the savings in lower premiums. You can save quite a bit in monthly premiums that you would have paid if you were enrolled in the standard Plan F.
First Dollar Coverage Plans
In 2020, all first-dollar coverage plans will be going away. Those enrolled in Plan F, Plan C and High-Deductible Plan F will be able to keep their plan. As long as you become Medicare eligible prior to 2020, you can still enroll into one of the first-dollar coverage plans after they’re discontinued.
This was set in place to ensure that doctors would be paid better for providing Medicare Services. Lawmakers believe that when people have no out of pocket costs, they’ll be more likely to use their coverage for minor issues that don’t require medical care.
Omaha Insurance Medicare Supplement Eligibility & Enrollment
You can enroll in any Omaha insurance Medicare Supplement Plan at any time. However, to be granted guaranteed issue, you would have to enroll during your Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period.
This period only happens once in a beneficiaries lifetime. It last six months and gives you the opportunity to enroll without answering health questions.

Mutual of Omaha Medicare Advantage
Fall of 2018 meant big things for Mutual of Omaha Medicare Advantage Plans. This is the first time Mutual of Omaha has entered the Medicare Advantage market. They will be partnering with Lumeris, Inc.
Mutual of Omaha included the SilverSneakers program into their Medicare Advantage Plan. Enrollees can use the gym membership and classes as much as their healthy heart desires.
Some of these plans also include routine dental, vision, and hearing. If you have difficulty getting to doctor appointments, there is no need to worry, transportation is a benefit available with Medicare Advantage Plans offered by Mutual.
Currently, Mutual of Omaha advantage plans are only available in the Cincinnati (Ohio/Kentucky) and San Antonio markets.
However, Medicare Advantage Plans are not all what they seem to be. There’s a lot of limitations, included doctors that are in-network. Many times, our clients end up dis-enrolling from their Medicare Advantage Plan to pick up a Medigap Plan due to them not being able to see their primary physician. You can see why beneficiaries choose Medicare Supplement Plans over Medicare Advantage Plans here.
Mutual of Omaha Part D
Just like the Medicare Advantage Plans for Omaha Health Insurance Company, the company released Part D prescription drug coverage to 49 states in the fall of 2018. Omaha Health Insurance Company is a customer-focused company. That’s why we love working with MoO & their subsidiaries, they’ve become a leading provider of Medicare Supplemental insurance.
When Mutual of Omaha added drug plans, they responded to the customers requests to obtain coverage from a single trusted source. There are two plans; The Mutual of Omaha RX Value enhanced plan and the Mutual of Omaha RX basic plan.
