Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap)

Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company has been offering insurance products to Medicare Beneficiaries for over 60 years.

Based out of Atlanta, Georgia this company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlantic American Corporation.

Also, it’s worth noting that Bankers Fidelity Assurance Company is a subsidiary of Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company.

Bankers Fidelity Benefits

Providing an ambitious line of products, Bankers Fidelity Life is known for focusing on their clients and financial strength.

Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company provides Medicare Supplement Plans A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan F, High Deductible Plan F, Plan G, Plan K, and Plan N.

Although, some policy provisions may vary by state; therefore, you should check with your agent before enrolling in any insurance plan.

All Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement Plans are including the following basic benefits:

  • Hospital coinsurance
  • Medicare Part A supplemental hospital care (additional 365 days after Medicare benefits end)
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance for hospital outpatient services (generally 20% of Medicare-approved costs)
  • First 3 pints of blood each year
  • Hospice care

Bankers Fidelity Health Insurance Plan A

Medigap Plan A has the lowest level of supplemental coverage.

However, despite having the lowest level of benefits, Medigap Plan A is selected by Medicare Beneficiaries that want more coverage than what is being offered through Original Medicare. Typically, these persons do not intend to use healthcare services often.

Medigap Plan A provides the basic benefits:

  • Part A hospital coinsurance and coverage for 365 additional days after Medicare benefits end
  • The Part A coinsurance for hospice care
  • Part B coinsurance (generally 20% of Medicare-approved costs) for hospital outpatient services
  • First 3 pints of blood each year

Bankers Fidelity Plan B

Medicare Beneficiaries enrolling in the Medigap Plan B are wanting a low premium and more coverage than Plan A. Generally, beneficiaries purchasing Plan B don’t intend to utilize many health care services.

In other words, Medicare Beneficiaries that want the perks of a Supplement Plan without spending much in premium choose Plan B because it covers the Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services.

Bankers Fidelity Plan C

Medical Supplement Plan C offers the same basic coverage with a few added benefits.

Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement rates fit within most budgets. However, note that this plan is retiring January 1, 2020. Congress voted to end all first dollar Medigap plans. States that do not allow excess charges tend to have a higher enrollment in Plan C.

The added benefits for Medigap Plan C include:

  • Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100)
  • Part B deductible for qualified medical and hospital services, generally for outpatient services
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement Plan F

Medicare Supplement Plan F is the most comprehensive Medigap Plan on the market. Basically, the insured pays their premium and nothing else.

Plan F covers the Medicare Beneficiary’s portion of the cost. This includes excess charges of Medicare-approved amounts.

Also, any Medicare Beneficiary on Plan F will experience no out-of-pocket expenses during Medicare-approved hospital or doctors’ office visits.
Plan F includes the Medicare basic benefits plus more:

  • Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100)
  • Part B deductible for qualified medical and hospital services, generally for outpatient services
  • Part B excess charges benefit for charges exceeding the normal Part B limit
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Because it essentially covers all a beneficiary’s out-of-pocket expenses, Plan F has been the most popular plan.

Although, this popularity has caused increasing costs and eventually the removal of this first dollar plan in 2020. However, Plan F has become cost prohibitive to many beneficiaries, driving droves of beneficiaries towards Plan G.

Bankers Fidelity High Deductible Plan F

The Medigap Plan called the High Deductible Plan F provides the same benefits as the standard Plan F with the only change being this Plan has a high deductible that must first be satisfied. In other words, you get great coverage at a much lower rate.

After the deductible has been met, the High Deductible Plan F pays all covered expenses, including:

  • Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100)
  • Part B excess charges benefit for charges exceeding the normal Part B limit
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Bankers Fidelity Plan G

The Medicare Supplement Plan G has quickly gained notoriety as the most popular plan available to Medicare Beneficiaries.

Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement Plan G gives the Medicare Beneficiary a fully comprehensive coverage option for a lower premium. However, the only charge not covered by Medigap Plan G is Medicare’s Part B deductible.

Included in its benefit package is Medicare’s basic benefits and additional coverages for hospitalization:

  • Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100)
  • Part B excess charges benefit for charges exceeding the normal Part B limit
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage

Although, Medicare Beneficiaries save in excess of $200 per year on monthly premium when choosing Plan G over Plan F.

Bankers Fidelity Plan K

Medigap Plan K offers one of the lowest premium amounts for a supplement option. The reasoning is simple, the Medicare Beneficiary will share in the cost of medical services.

Covered benefits include:

  • Part A hospital deductible for inpatient services is covered at 50%
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21 – 100) is covered at 50%
  • Hospital and preventive care are covered at 100% and all other basic benefits are paid at 50%
  • However, this option does offer a yearly out of pocket maximum to provide some peace of mind

Bankers Fidelity Plan N

Medicare Beneficiaries who are aging into Medicare are cost conscientious and want the best coverage for their dollars spent should look at the Medigap Plan N.

Medicare Supplement Plan N is considered an affordable option as it gives substantially more coverage than the Plan A. However, due to a few copayments the cost has remained reasonable. Also, Plan N is a favorite among cost-conscious Beneficiaries.

Plan N includes Medicare’s basic benefits along with additional coverage for hospitalization plus:

  • Part A coinsurance (generally 20% of Medicare-approved costs) – for hospital outpatient services
  • Part B hospital deductible for inpatient services after a $50 copayment ER and/or a $20 copayment for a doctor’s office visit
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (for days 21-100)
  • Foreign travel medical emergency coverage
