Medicare Plan F reviews can be hard to find since the government doesn’t have a star system set up as they do for advantage plans.
If you’re anything like most people, you need reviews from other consumers to make a final decision on a service or product that you want to purchase.
So, naturally, when it’s enrollment time you go looking for the Plan F reviews.
Plan F is the most complete coverage when next to any other plan. So, it’s probable that you’re looking for Medicare Supplement Plan F reviews.
Perhaps the reviews tell you about the coverage and the regularity a carrier pays in a timely fashion. Do you want to know how various Medigap companies score on these things?
I’ll tell you my own views on how they score:
Medicare Plan F Reviews
- Aetna: A+
- American Retirement Life Insurance: A+
- Banker’s Life: A+
- Cigna: A+
- Anthem: A+
- Blue Cross Blue Shield: A+
- Manhattan Life: A+
- Gerber Life: A+
- United American: A+
- Mutual of Omaha: A+
- UnitedHealthcare: A+
Have you asked yourself how it’s feasible that I would give all the companies a two-thumbs-up, A+ rating?
The reason I give every company an A+ rating is that Medigap plans are standardized by the Federal government. Meaning, no matter what company you go with, the benefits are when the plan is the same!
Once Medicare pays its share of the bill, then they send the balance to the company to pay the rest. The Insurance company doesn’t get to choose which benefits they’ll cover.
If Medicare covers it, the Medigap plan covers it. So, on the question of which company has the greatest Medigap plan? Well, they all get an A+.
Also, we know that the benefits of ALL supplement plans with different companies are amazing. However, what about timely claims payments? Who gets the best Medigap reviews on claims paid?
Medigap Plan F Reviews Show Timely Claim Payments
When it comes to claims payment, I’ll give each company an A+.
From my experience as an insurance agent, every Medigap plans pay claims in a timely manner. No Insurer denies a bill that Medicare already gave approval.
The companies quickly pay claims because Medicare passes the information off to the supplement company after Medicare covers its share of the costs.
The companies can’t choose which claims it wants to pay. If Medicare covers the service, then the supplement also provides coverage.
Please note that the perfect track record for claims payments on a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan is totally different. There are companies that offer both MA plans and Medigap plans.
Companies like Humana, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare offer both Medigap and MA plans. Reviews for MA plans are different than the Medigap company ratings.
So, when you read a review that says an insurance carrier has received a sanction from Medicare; it’s probably referring to an MA plan.
I’m positive that the Supplement company that sells you a Medigap policy has a superior payment record. If you’re uneasy about some bad review, call us and get the real information.
Allow Access to Your Best Doctors
There are many great things about Supplements, including access to doctors being super easy. Since Medicare itself is your network.
If the doctor accepts Medicare assignment, then they accept your Supplement plan as well.
So, which Supplement company is the best choice for doctors? Again, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! You’ll NEVER need to ask the doctors if they take “UnitedHealthcare Medigap” or “Aetna Medigap”.
You’ll ask: “Do you take Medicare?” if the doctor says yes, you can use your coverage at that doctor’s office without worries.
In the decade I’ve had to work with insurance, I’ve never had a doctor deflect a patient because he isn’t familiar with the name of the carrier.
Let us say the doctor tried, you could give us a quick call from your healthcare facility. Then we clear up the confusion quickly.
When the benefits, claims records and doctor accessibility are great with every company, which one do you choose? Personally, I recommend looking at other important factors.
Top Reasons to Choose Medicare Supplement Plan F
The duration the carrier has had an active business and the time frame they’ve offered Supplement coverage is important. Many people care about stability & security, and for good reasons.
There are many reliable companies in the market. For instance, Aetna Medigap is ideal for clients that care more about stability. The company, Aetna, has existed since about 1850. I know that makes many clients feel secure.
Timing is Everything
If you’re going to enroll during your once in a lifetime Medigap Open Enrollment Period(OEP), you don’t need to answer questions pertaining to health. Basically, any carrier gives you incredible coverage at the lowest price possible.
If you’re past the six-month OEP window, you’ll most likely need to answer questions about your health. Although, individual companies have alternate health questions. So, you’ll want to choose one that gives you the greatest opportunity for approval.
In Oregon or California, the birthday rule exists, which allows you to enroll in a plan without answering health questions during the month of your birthday annually.
This rule applies if you’re currently enrolled in a Medigap policy.
Our insurance experts take the rules into consideration when selecting which company has the best Medigap plan for your needs. It’s possible for you to get the most affordable plan with ease because of your state laws.
If you’re someone who had Humana plan with an employer previously, and your experience was a good one you may feel sold on Humana. There are thousands that receive coverage with them and have no issues.
What I’m telling you is, your peace of mind is a factor in your choice. You can’t choose wrong when you choose a Supplement.
When you’re confident in the company and they offer Plan F or another Supplement plan, you’ll certainly receive quality care.
Customer Service with the Biggest Insurance Carriers
Each insurance company operates its customer service at a different level of care. There’s absolutely no doubt that some insurance carriers have better customer service than others.
If a doctor submits a claim with an incorrect billing code, Medicare denies the coverage. Everyone wants information on which insurance company is best to work with when it comes to solving problems.
