Wheelchairs 4 Kids: Improving the Lives of Children with Physical Disabilities
We had the honor of attending the Wheelchairs 4 Kids Heroes Luncheon at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. Wheelchairs 4 Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of Tarpon Springs, Florida. They’re dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities.
We were touched by all the inspirational stories and strength of these children and their families. That’s why Elite Insurance Partners & MedicareFAQ is proud to be a sponsor of their upcoming event, Wheely Good Time.
Wheely Good Times
The 8th annual Wheely Good Time fundraiser will be held on November 3rd, 2018 at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The event will be hosted by Fox 13 news anchor Mark Wilson. You’ll enjoy music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.
Supporters that can’t attend this event will have the opportunity to take part in the silent auction with mobile bidding, which allows you to big right from your phone. This is only one of the many events this amazing organization hosts to raise money for kids with physical disabilities.
Kimberly Knorr Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament
Wheelchairs 4 Kids also has the Kimberly Knorr Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament. This event will be held on January 24th, 2019 at the Cypress Run Golf Club.
This is not your average event, this is the best golf tournament in the Tampa Bay area! You’ll have a chance to golf with some of your favorite sports stars, and at the same time, make a difference in the lives of these incredible kids.
Annual Jail and Bail
Another great way to support this organization is the annual Jail and Bail. This is where local businesses raise money by being labeled as “felons” and putting themselves in “jail.” The goal is to raise enough money to bail themselves out.
Our COO, David Haass, is long time friends with one of their “felons.” That’s how EIP was introduced to Wheelchairs 4 Kids. Terald Hopkins, the general manager of Ed Morse Cadillac in Brandon, has been a long time supporter of this charity.
One “felon” you might recognize is Adam Brum, partner of Morgan & Morgan in Tampa/St. Petersburg. Kendall Kirkham and Michael Clayton from Great Day Tampa Bay are also supporters along with Joseph Catania from Catania & Catania.
One of our local radio hosts from Wild 94.1, Joey Franchize, is another “felon” that supports Wheelchairs 4 Kids. If you’re from the Tampa Bay area, you may have heard of the Bearded Brothers Band. They’re also in “jail” trying to raise money for this organization.
Guardians of the Wheel Kids Club
Other ways to support Wheelchairs 4 Kids is by joining their Guardians of the Wheel Kids Club. Your small monthly donation will improve the lives of these physically disabled children. Your monthly donation will help provide these children with much needed assistive equipment, wheelchairs, home and vehicle modifications.
By joining the Guardians of the Wheel Kids Club, you’ll receive quarterly newsletters to keep you up to date with all the kids. You’ll also receive a yearly calendar that features pictures of all the children you’ve helped.
